Disney Junior Canada Holiday Shows: Mickey Mouse & Sofia the First Meets The Little Mermaid!

Making Snow Castles in December
It's December so soon, and I ask myself where has all the time gone?  In Toronto, we've had early snow, and the kids have been delighted making snow castles with the snow that has settled on the ground in a big, white blanket.  Although it's been unseasonably cold, you would not know with the kids enjoying the outdoors and having lots of fun!  How can it be that we're only weeks from Christmas already?

When I think of December, I always envision my kids with rosy red cheeks after coming indoors from playing outside.  To warm them and get a big smile, a cup of hot cocoa is always appreciated.  I love watching the kids sip hot chocolate from a teaspoon, as they recount their outdoor adventures.
The Kids Enjoy a Special Treat While Watching Disney Junior Canada Holiday Shows!
As the days grow shorter and it gets dark sooner, the kids love to unwind with some great Holiday programming from Disney Junior Canada!  The kids get cozy in their jammies, and we might pop popcorn or offer them a light snack like sliced apples or fruit, or veggies with dip as they enjoy the show!  If it's a chilly evening, the kids share one big blanket and curl up together.
The Kids Decked Out as Their Favourite Disney Characters
Before watching a Disney Junior Canada show, some of my crew enjoy dressing up as their favourite Disney characters.  I've had Pooh bear, Mickey Mouse, The Little Mermaid, Princess Belle, Jake (from the Never Land Pirates), and many more excited, giggling characters pay me a special visit.  It makes for fun, happy times!

One evening "Mickey Mouse" came up to me during the show and asked for some cheese and crackers, because mice like cheese, and Mickey Mouse was hungry!  Of course, I got that mouse some cheese (and crackers) to nibble on!

After my Father-in-Law's passing 3 years ago, we realized that as long as we are all together, it would make for very Happy Holidays.  Last year in December, we started a new family tradition of visiting Walt Disney World around the Holidays!  It was a really magical time for the kids (and their parents)!

We just moved houses 3 months ago, so unfortunately had to put this new tradition on hold this year--but we're hoping to go in 2014!  This year the kids will enjoy the Holidays spent with the extended family, and after the loss of my Father-in-Law, we will all cherish our time together very much!  Great conversation, music, movies, fun, games, food, outdoor play, visits from special family members that we don't see as often as we'd like, and presents will be enjoyed over the Holidays by our family this year!

What is your favourite part of December?  Do your kids or grandkids enjoy outdoor play such as tobogganing, making snowballs, or building snow forts?  Do you have any special Christmas family traditions?

  3. Little Mermaid 2? I don't think we've seen that. I would love to share it with my girls. My daughter was in the play Little Mermaid with her acting troupe last year. It was adorable and really well sung. She was flounder. We love all things Disney and we love building backyard snow castles.

  11. I once used a recipe, from the Disney Channel magazine, that suggested you swirl a peppermint cane in your hot cocoa. It was so good!
